Welcome to Bhakthi Manjari New Jersey, United States. Bhakthi refers to devotion and Manjari refers to blossoming. The name BhakthiManjari can be interpreted as bhakthi(devotion) blossoming in the childs heart or bhakthi seeded in a blossoming childs heart . Our intention is to inculcate Bhakthi(devotion) in the hearts of children by teaching them to recite and chant slokas and bhajans. Our goal is to make our Indian children aware about our culture through different streams.

First, we invoke the Bhakti sadhana by introducing the children to different slokas or manthras. Furthermore, we enlighten them through stories and activities. The musical quest is fulfilled by singing Bhajans. We also stress on the importance of proper pronunciations and how a meaning of the word changes if it is pronounced incorrectly. We are proud to celebrate not only our special Indian festivities but we also take pride in celebrating some of the American festivities. Our main aspiration is to give a strong fundamental root in Indian culture to our upcoming children and to encourage them to preserve their heritage.

GOALS

  • Address the spiritual needs of children and help to build their character through our curriculum
  • Introduce children to various Indian Scriptures to imbibe right values and moral principles. (Ramayana, Bhagavatha Purana, Bhagavad Gita)
  • Provide a fun and non-competitive environment for children to internalize the teachings
  • Guide the children through the curriculum with strong emphasis to demonstrate discipline and respectful conduct
  • Ensure discipline and respect among students for elders and their respective teachers
  • Teachings in classes are inclusive and applicable to all students and their respective communities
  • Field trips to different temples of various cultures in New Jersey
  • Experienced teachers will make sure that every child’s pronunciation and rendering is corrected individually
  • Parents should feel comfortable reinforcing at home what is taught in classes.
  • Shloka class focusses on teaching different sthothrams to children. They serve to inspire children with devotion to the Supreme. Shloka class children are often invited to recite sthothrams at various temple events and other functions in and around New Jersey.
